For the Crust:
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round baking pans.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract; beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. Stir in boiling water until batter is smooth.
- Pour batter evenly into prepared pans. Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks to cool completely.
