For the Crust:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 egg
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the vanilla extract and egg.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut into shapes using cookie cutters. Place cookies on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until they are just starting to brown on the edges. Cool on wire racks.
