For the Crust:
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg, milk, and vanilla.
- Gradually blend in the dry ingredients until a soft dough forms.
- Roll rounded tablespoons of dough into balls and place 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets. Flatten slightly with the bottom of a glass.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the bottoms are just lightly golden. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Decorate as desired.
