Scalloped Potatoes with Gruyere and Cheddar

A creamy and cheesy potato dish that’s perfect as a side or main course. Featuring the rich flavors of Gruyere and Cheddar cheese, this dish is a comforting classic.

For the Crust:

  • 4 large russet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup Gruyere cheese, grated
  • 1 cup Cheddar cheese, grated
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).
  2. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream and minced garlic over medium heat, stirring occasionally until well combined. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes, followed by half of the Gruyere and Cheddar cheeses. Repeat the layers, then pour the cream mixture over the top.
  4. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the top is golden brown and the potatoes are tender.

Notes
