Salted Caramel Cream Cheese Cupcakes

Description

Deliciously moist cupcakes topped with a rich salted caramel cream cheese frosting.

For the Crust:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin pan with cupcake liners.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. Mix in the flour alternately with the milk, beginning and ending with the flour. Divide the batter evenly among the prepared cupcake liners and bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  4. For the frosting, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Slowly add the caramel sauce and sea salt, mixing until well combined.
  5. Once the cupcakes are cooled, generously spread the salted caramel cream cheese frosting on top or use a piping bag for a decorative finish.

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
