For the Crust:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup chocolate chunks
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the melted butter and sugar until smooth, then add the eggs and vanilla extract and mix well.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the buttermilk, until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chunks and divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups.
  6. Drizzle the tops with caramel sauce and sprinkle with sea salt.
  7. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool before serving.
