Mocha Mousse Dream Cake

A decadent cake combining the flavors of rich chocolate and coffee in a light mousse topping.

For the Crust:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup brewed coffee
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chopped dark chocolate

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat eggs with sugar until creamy, then add oil, coffee, and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until smooth.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  6. Allow the cake to cool completely.
  7. To prepare the mousse, melt chopped dark chocolate in a bowl over simmering water, let cool slightly.
  8. Whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form, then gently fold the cooled chocolate into the cream.
  9. Spread the mousse evenly over the cooled cake and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
