For the Crust:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup maraschino cherries, drained and chopped
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, combining well. Stir in the cherries and chocolate chips.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are golden brown. Cool on wire racks.
