Deliciously soft and chewy cookies packed with maraschino cherries and chocolate chips.

For the Crust:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup maraschino cherries, drained and chopped
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, combining well. Stir in the cherries and chocolate chips.
  4. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are golden brown. Cool on wire racks.
