For the Crust:

  • 1/2 cup high-quality extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 loaf crusty Italian or French bread, warmed

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a shallow, wide bowl or plate, pour the extra virgin olive oil.
  2. Evenly sprinkle the minced garlic, oregano, red pepper flakes, black pepper, and sea salt over the oil.
  3. Add the fresh parsley and lemon zest, gently swirling the bowl to combine the ingredients without stirring them into the oil completely.
  4. Let the dip sit for at least 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  5. Serve immediately with warm, sliced crusty bread for dipping.
