For the Crust:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup caramel sauce
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat the oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time.
- Mix in the flour alternately with the milk, starting and ending with the flour. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
- Spread caramel sauce between the cake layers and over the top. Serve and enjoy!
