- 8 ounces bowtie pasta
- 1 pound Italian sausage, removed from casing
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the bowtie pasta according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the Italian sausage and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
- Add the chopped onion and garlic to the skillet with the sausage. Cook until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the heavy cream, chicken broth, and Italian seasoning. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Remove from heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
For a spicier version, use hot Italian sausage. Serve with garlic bread for a complete meal.
