For the Crust:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan and set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and milk to the dry ingredients. Mix until smooth.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and pour the batter into the prepared cake pan. Smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool completely on a wire rack. Once cool, drizzle the caramel sauce over the top and sprinkle with chopped pecans before serving.
