Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup chopped toasted hazelnuts
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup crispy rice cereal
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
3. In a large bowl, beat butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy and fluffy.
4. Add egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and beat until combined.
5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
6. Fold in hazelnuts, chocolate chips, and crispy rice cereal.
7. Scoop dough onto baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
8. Bake for 10β12 minutes, until edges are set and centers are slightly soft.
9. Cool cookies on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Notes
For extra crunch, chill the dough for 20 minutes before baking.
Substitute almonds or walnuts if hazelnuts are unavailable.
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
