An incredibly moist and decadent chocolate cake soaked in sweet caramel sauce and topped with fluffy whipped cream.

For the Crust:
- 1 box (15.25 oz) chocolate cake mix, plus ingredients to prepare it
- 1 jar (16 oz) caramel sauce
- 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Sea salt flakes for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Prepare and bake the chocolate cake in a 9×13 inch pan according to package directions. Let it cool for 15 minutes.
- Using the handle of a wooden spoon, poke holes all over the top of the warm cake. Pour the sweetened condensed milk over the cake, followed by the caramel sauce, ensuring it seeps into the holes.
- Allow the cake to cool completely to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Before serving, make the topping: In a large bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until stiff peaks form. Spread over the chilled cake. Drizzle with extra caramel and a sprinkle of sea salt if desired.
