- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

- 1 large egg
- 1 cup dried cherries, chopped
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the almond extract and egg until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the chopped dried cherries and sliced almonds.
- Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For best results, use fresh dried cherries and ensure the butter is at room temperature.
