For the Crust:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup diced apples
  • 3/4 cup caramel sauce
  • 2 eggs

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C) and grease a 9Γ—9 inch cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt until combined.
  4. Fold in the diced apples and pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
  5. Drizzle the caramel sauce over the top and use a knife to swirl it into the batter.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
