Description
Butter Pecan Praline Poke Cake is a moist, tender cake soaked in a rich buttery praline glaze and topped with toasted pecans. It’s everything you love about Southern baking in one unforgettable dessert.
Ingredients
1 box butter pecan cake mix
3 large eggs
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 cup water
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped pecans (plus extra for topping)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. Prepare the butter pecan cake mix according to box instructions using eggs, oil, and water. Pour into prepared dish.
3. Bake for 28–32 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
4. Remove from oven and let cool for 10 minutes. Using the end of a wooden spoon, poke holes all over the cake.
5. Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the cake, letting it soak into the holes.
6. In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat. Stir in pecans and vanilla. Cook for 2–3 minutes until thickened.
7. Spoon warm praline glaze over the cake and spread evenly. Top with extra pecans if desired.
8. Allow cake to cool completely before serving or refrigerate for best results.
