For the Crust:
- 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
- 1 cup long-grain white rice, uncooked
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (optional for topping)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C) and lightly grease a 9Γ13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine shredded chicken, uncooked rice, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, chicken broth, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread evenly. Sprinkle breadcrumbs on top if desired.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until the top is golden and the rice is tender.
- Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
